| [Jul eleven, 2006] doctored Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: Cobra F Speed 460 cc I tested my old driver (Cobra 350cc SS) & 4 new models on a launch monitor. I was undecided between the Ping G5 and the Cobra F speed, and so I initially went with the Ping. The Ping sounded solid & appeared to accept less backspin. I played with the Ping for 4 weeks & constitute it difficult to put consistently in the fairway. The dealer took back the Ping & permit me take the Cobra instead-- F speed, 9* strong flex. The Cobra really had the amend statistics off the launch monitor-- 99 mph swing speed, 140 mph ball, 233 yards carry. In practice the Cobra has been much more accurate besides as giving good distance. The slightly airtight confront really promotes a direct to slight describe brawl flight. It all started with my stupid quest to find that perfect driver which started originally in 2004. In a nutshell I concluded that the King Cobra 440SZ (forgiving/bang-up distance) was #1 so second came the unknown darkhorse of the Cleveland Sport O/South (easy to hitting/great launch action). So comes 2005 and for some reason I opted to endeavor an older model King Cobra 427SS which seemed to mimic the 440SZ to me. Now here comes 2006 and we all get itchy for some reason when the new stuff comes out each and every year and I at present write my recent voyage in the sea of drivers. I traded my love 427 for a used Mizuno MP-001 (difficult to become whatsoever kind of feedback/horrible launch activeness) and accept to say I made a big mistake. And then I so traded that commuter for an older Callaway VFT (outdated technology/spoiled with mod stuff) and aye another bad determination on my part. And so I traded that guy for a yeah y'all guessed it another Rex Cobra 440SZ merely wasn't too convinced at the driving range but afterall it has been a yr since I striking my all time favorite and so I went back to the familiar golf shop to merchandise that in for a Ping G2 (mind you lot all of these drivers are used with a 7 day return policy which isn't all that bad if you actually think about information technology). Then behold right next to it is again my other all fourth dimension champ (King Cobra 440SZ) so decisions decisions. And wala underneath that rack was the Rex Cobra 454 COMP which I tried a yr agone and was not impressed one fleck (not even close to distance as my 427SS and 440 SZ). Then side by side to that was yes the Rex Cobra 460 FSpeed which looked almost make new ($225). I never really looked into these and so I held ane and really felt comfortable with the weight and experience (shaft was the Aldila NV 55 Regular Flex shaft). The grip was a tad smaller than most but felt okay. I addressed all 3 Cobras and just went with a gut feeling on the 460 FSpeed. I know it was a gamble considering afterall these other two Cobras (427SS and 440SZ) were proven to work over and over in my curt golf game life. So I took a gamble and bought it, went to driving range twice today and overall I think this ane has a slight reward meaning less fading/slicing due to it's stock closed 3 degree face up, larger sweet spot (460cc), a tad further at the range and perfect shaft philharmonic (weighting feels perfect). I tin can't await to try her on the real battleground. |
| [Jul 02, 2006] macgregor6 Shoots in the 70s Model Reviewed: Cobra 460 f speed After 3 rounds and getting used to , this is an excellent driver. Long, straight and nice feed back. My only qualm is the ugly green shaft. Shaft is only 55 grams. I have the nine* loft and the brawl has a prissy trajectory. | [Jun 13, 2006] chrislemb Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: Cobra F-Type 10.five degrees, Stiff (75gm) Proforce V2 shaft By Far the most forgiving and longest Driver I've played with due to the largest face on Bout. Information technology is weighted as far back as possible to increase launch angle for a much higher ball flight. Its face is about ii degress closed to promote a slight depict or foursquare up the club upon impact for those who fade or piece. Playing off a handicap of x, with a swing speed of 105m, I went from hitting 57% fairways with the Taylormade R7 and Titleist 905T, averaging 240 yards in a very hot summer with dry out fairways to at present hitting 85% accuracy (12 out of 14 fairways at my golf Society) averaging an actress 10 yards in very cold winter with softer fairways with the F Type. Come summertime time there is no reason why I couldn't increase distance past a further 10-15 yards using the F-Blazon. During address it oozes confidance and its by far the easiest Commuter I e'er Hitting. I'd avoid their standard Aldila Stiff shafts every bit they twist besides much for a stiff shaft thus they lag quite a scrap if yous have a swing speed of approx 105m. Customer Service I must say Website customer service was only the worst. I emailed them twice and had to wait 3 weeks for a respond and even then they simply apologised for their delayed response due to lame 'technical difficulties' excuses. The 2d time I wrote back, well I still haven't heard from them 3 weeks later. half dozen weeks now no answers to my research. Also, I was annoyed that I specifically asked for a cord grip and they supplied information technology with an original ane. Eventually the got it right the second time effectually. Customer service aside, Driving is now the strongest part of my game as a issue of the F-Blazon Driver. Like Products Used: Taylormade R7, Titleist 905T. |
| [Jun 08, 2006] Quicksr20 Shoots in the 90s Model Reviewed: Cobra F Speed 460cc Aldila Stiff I demo'ed this lodge and played a round with it too as striking almost 50 assurance at the local driving range. I must say this is a Sweet driver! Information technology really hammers the ball. I wasnt fifty-fifty trying to impale the ball but information technology was consistantly rolling to most 290 yds every time. I hit a few monster drives with it which was nice too. Information technology is so forgiving too. I similar the sound when y'all contact the ball, it goes off like a cannon. Virtually every drive I was striking a slight draw when with my final driver I was fading and sometimes slicing too. This is a stiff shafted model which was perfect for my swing speed. I was well-nigh 100% on buying the Sasquatch fom Nike, simply after this demo, I am a Cobra fan existent quick. These Cobra drivers are true distance clubs, and I practise not doubt it anymore. This will more and probable be a new addition in my golf game handbag come Father's Day. | [May 12, 2006] Cobra Big Dog Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: F/Speed 9* stiff , x.5* reg First of all I accept to admit..I am a Cobra guy thru and thru.I have been playing Cobra for 15 yrs.Have they always fabricated good equipment? Certainly not..I had to play my KC11'southward and Ti woods for alot of yrs. before they started kickin' barrel with the SS'i series to present..Cobra has decent stuff now and at much more reasonable price and the SZ line is fantastic.Well now to the Speed..I have to concur with Mizunogolfer's review of the F'speed for the most part.I have the SZ 460 9* stiff,and got the 9* F/Speed stiff.**On to the shag bag range...Ball flight of the Speed was depression to med flight..Much lower so the SZ 9*..Feel of the speed was poor compared to the SZ.. Customer Service I had to deal with Cobra when a new headcover was mistitched and they sent my a new one no questions asked free of charge..But at present I hither so many people abused that to get a headcover to sell on ebay they no longer do that..They require you lot to deal with the dealer yous bought your social club from now.. Similar Products Used: I have hit them all except for the newest of the newest..Demo day for all is side by side calendar week..I will be there..Is there better- yes and a matter of stance..For the cadet Cobra rules.. |
| [May 02, 2006] Rob Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: Cobra F Speed Great driver. I usually have a draw on my irons just a slight fade on my drives(previously Callaway). Have been using the Cobra for 2 weeks now and am actually impressed. I now have a draw on my drives and have found information technology to be very forgiving. | [Apr 28, 2006] Mizunogolfer Shoots in the 90s Model Reviewed: F/Speed nine* Stiff Flex I sold my Cobra 460 SZ over the winter months thinking that the F/Speed would exist an improved upgrade over my 460SZ... I was wrong! I tin can't brainstorm to explain my disappointment with the F/Speed driver as it feels naught like the 460SZ did, which is a existent shame. First off the head and shaft in this driver are very poor feeling! The lodge has no feeling and the shaft plays absolutely nothing similar the HL shaft in the 460SZ. When I did striking one on the screws, distance was very poor although my ball flying was usually directly. The success that I had with the nine* head in my 460SZ was a distant memory with the F/Speed, as the ball flight was depression-medium trajectory with the F/Speed. My swing speed was not an issue as it comes in around 107-113 MPH. Some other thing that I disliked almost the F/Speed was the "tinny" sound of the driver off the face at impact. Information technology sounded like I was tossing an empty soup can off a 2nd flooring building onto a sidewalk. The best matter going for this driver are its looks. Information technology is a beautiful looking driver but does not play as such. 460SZ owners looking for an uograde should practise what I failed to do... demo beginning! Immediately sold the F/Speed on ebay & purchased a new Cobra 460SZ with an NVS shaft. Similar Products Used: Cobra 460 SZ |

| [Apr eighteen, 2006] celtgolfer Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: F Speed Reg x.five Deg. Previously used TaylorMade 540XD with acceptable results. As I'grand in my fifty'southward, I'k not getting stronger - drives commonly went 225+ with a tendency to fade the ball sometimes. Switched to the Adams 430Q - yikes, what a mistake. I traded my Adams in for the F-Speed. I cannot get this commuter to fade no matter how difficult I attempt. In fact, I can draw the ball which was unheard of earlier. I believe the hugger-mugger is in the difference between the Aldila NVS (Adams) and NV (Cobra) shafts. The NVS has a softer tip, so I had difficulty stopping the fade. The NV's firmer tip releases just right for my swing speed (about 90 mph) and the results have been astonishing. I hit one 285+ drive terminal weekend, expressionless center fairway, and my percentage of drives in the fairways is fashion upwards. Lastly, the larger sweet spot on this gild's face up helps a lot. Be careful to get your stats accurately measured, and get the right club/shaft for your swing. If you do this, you won't be disappointed. If you think y'all demand TaylorMade, Nike or Callaway to play the ball further, call up that Cobra is endemic by Titleist. |
